Meran in Südtirol the place I come from

When people ask me where home is, it is often a difficult question to answer. South Tyrol is the place where I grew up, where I have my roots and my home base. But there are so many other places I feel home. I divide my time between Peru, South Tyrol in Italy and visits in Canada and the USA. For me there is a piece of home in all these places. I don’t have an apartment, I have a suitcase.

One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou:

You are only free when you realize you belong no place - you belong every place – no place at all. The price is high. The reward is great.

Once I heard these words, I felt them resonating with me and my life.

I feel I belong to every place but also to no place. Most of all I belong to myself. Home means finding true belonging. If the feeling of true belonging is anchored within our-selves, we can experience freedom no matter where we are. The price to achieve true belonging is high, the reward is great!

I highly recommended " Braving the Wilderness. The Quest of True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone" Brené Brown. Get your copy of this inspiring BOOK.
